I don't get the "even for a cyclist" part. What part of being a cyclist should magically grant automatic immunity against White Coat Syndrome?

Well, that got me to thinking....
Why DID I write it that way in the title of the post?

My best-guess answer could make for a little discussion here in this thread.

I think I did it because somehow, deep down inside, I figure that we're a tougher lot than the average guy out there, what with road rash and broken bones and all.

And Lord knows I've paid my dues in six seasons of cycling AFTER total hip replacement surgery. Road rash...broken wrist...half a front tooth knocked out...I'm pretty toughened by the sport, but I'm still a nervous heap in the doctor's office giving blood.

Are we as cyclists tougher?
Road rash hurts....I do my best to avoid it....not embrace it and use it as a sign of my toughness.

I'd rather be good enough to not crash than tough enough to take it any day.

No...I personally don't think cyclists are any tougher than any other athletic type person.
