SS 29er mtn bike on the cheap?
So, GT has the new singlespeed 'Peace 9er' for around a five hundred bucks. It has almost everything I have been looking for in a new mountain bike; big wheels to fit my studded Nokians, one speed, and prebuilt on the cheap. Unfortunately, it comes bereft of disc mounts, which I would very much like to have.
GT's 'Peace' HAS disc mounts, but also has 26" wheels and it doesn't say whether it can accept the bigger wheels. (It doesn't LOOK accommodating)
My questions:
Anyone know if there are any other budget SS 29' mtn bikes?
Anyone ride a SS 29 before?
Have I been brainwashed over the hype surrounding shiny new 29ers?
Should I just grab a rust bucket from the dump and use that for the winter commute?
