As a cycling advocate (and human) it is in our best interests that these cyclists correct their unsafe behavior and do not get killed or hurt.

1. It makes all cyclists look bad.
2. Any death or injury adds to the statistic that can be used to support the incorrect conclusion that cycling is dangerous. Conclusions like this can be fodder for anti-cycling behavior and laws as well as hindering others to take up cycling.
