One more vote for not messing around with the common cold. I did that last autumn. Resulting prolonged flu was followed by a nasty viral infection in my throat, which was followed by a bacterial infection down my windpipe. At times I thought I was coughing the bottoms of my lugns out. I spent a bit over 2 weeks in bed, could not ride for nearly 6 weeks. Never again!
