There is no right answer. The Freewheel / Fixed debate is no different than:

Honda / VW
DEM / GOP
Benz / Beamer
ICP / Eminem
PC / MAC

There seems to be a lot more subjectivity than objectivity in these types of debates. It's basically up to you. And reading words probably won't make up your mind. Your butt will tell you after 50 yards of riding. That's all it takes (for me anyway).
