I believe if you have a question about the spinning manuals, best to go to
www.spinning.com and speak with the forum members there. Go to Forums, click on Instructor Forum, and register with them. Once you've regisered, you can ask any question you need about their manual and how to conform it to what you're doing.
I'm not sure if you're going that route with your questions, but if you are, they can better help you with interpreting the manual given to you.
