As far as my comment about the NJS stuff is concerned, I was making reference the fact that I myself live in New York and ride on the street here; despite having a Japanese track frame, having a bike that the Japanese track governing body would let me ride in a keirin race is not terribly important, even if I understand why some people find the aesthetic appealing. FOR ME, making my bike rideable and useful is important in ways that maintaining some sort of essentialized keirin-ness is not. Make sense?
