Crackling sound before flat tire

This is the second flat I've had in two days. The first time I pulled a nice piece of glass out of the tire, as well as the tube. Just earlier, the same thing happened, however there was this incredible crackling sound like fire works before it went flat. I pulled some tiny glass bits off the tire, but was under the impression that it takes more than some glass dust to flatten a tube. I'm assuming this is due to my ****ty tires, however, could the crackling sound have anything to do with a pinched/impropperly installed tube?

Anyone recomend a good tire that doesnt get cut easily?
