Pro's do stupid things like that too. 2 years ago in the Giro a Phonak rider suffered a mechanical on a flat, wide road. A team mate immediately stopped to assist. About 5 seconds later a third Phonak rider rode into the other two at nearly full speed. No one was seriously injured and all three finished the stage.
In the Giro a few years back I watched a rider crest a big mountain pass, sit up to put on his jacket, and while trying to do so got his sleeve caught in the spokes and crashed like a dork.
(Oh, and BTW, I once saw a professional basketball player miss a layup.)
