Successfully showed everyone at bike chain how NOT to built a track wheel. Let that be a lesson to you! Took it home, and rebuilt it perfectly first try. I don't know what was going on in there. I guess I can't talk and lace wheels at the same time.

(for those who weren't there: The spokes I brought to the clinic were pre-measured a week ago. Problem is, I put the wrong markings on them apparently, so I built the wheel with the long spokes on the drive side, and the short on the other. Also, the valve hole didn't line up right)

The wrong spoke thing I can understand, that was just a dopey thing to do. Duh! But I don't understand the valve thing. I put the key spoke in the same hole when I got home, and it worked out perfectly.

If things CAN go wrong, they WILL when you are teaching a wheel building class in front of 20 people.

Hope it was at least helpful.
