What kind of seat? If it came stock on a $700 bike I wouldn't worry too much. Every bike shop in the country has a box of similar seats that they'll sell you for around $10.00.

If you leave your bike locked up in public places, there is a risk of theft. You won't be happy if something is stolen but you won't die either. That's just the way that it is. Life gets lots easier when you come to realize that you aren't in control of everything and sometimes, in spite of our best efforts, some badness happens. Do what you can to fix it, learn what you can from the experience, and keep on keeping on.
