I picked up a brushed aluminum Langster in a Christmas sale. I hated the wheels too and had them build out the stock hubs with Open Pro rims. I also traded up the stock Mondo tires for a set of Roubaix Armadillo Elites. The bike rides fast, but is a lot smoother over those tires. They hold up really well for a commuter. I also switched out to a more aggressive stem to get a better aero fit.

The only issue that I am having with the bike is a bit of creaking from the stock handle bars when I sprint. I will probably switch them out for something carbon, which will help cut out that last bit of road chatter too. The 42x16 is okay in terms of gear selection but the more that I ride the bike the more that I am leaning towards something that will give me more top end speed without so much mega-spinning.
