We had the cops show up 3 times in one night before. We had like 100 people in the back yard screaming and yelling, the stereo on full blast with drum and bass and like 30 people on the front porch and people getting in fist fights on the street. We never got shut down though, despite selling beer to minors and such. I can't for the life of me figure out why we got off so easily. I bet the cops just really didn't want to have to break up a party. That must be the biggest hassle! They pretty much just told us to quiet down and bring everyone inside each time.
