All joking aside, I have an acquaintance who decided he needed some spending money for a couple of "toys" and didn't feel that it should come out of family funds. He got a job pushing carts at a superstore after his normal workday ( suffice it to say that pushing shopping carts was a long way off from his normal job). Saved the money, bought the toys and when his kids came asking for some bucks for something they wanted, he told them that he had the solution to their money problems. I don't know whether the kids thought it was worth the extra effort or not, but if not then I guess their desires must not have been too important after all.
