gatorskins and armadillos handle something awful the sidewall is super flat and the tread doesn't roll into it at all so you cornering stinks I run vredestien ricorso 700x23 at 130psi works great ont he gaping railroad crossings in my city= snakebit central
also I would look at getting a set of vittoria randonneur tires the cross version has very nice tred and handles quite well as well as being tough as nails
