Not to sound overly critical, but if you are more careful in putting the hockey stick tape on, you just might find that it is good enough to leave on permanently. I put on three layers. That makes it relatively comfy and also helps hides some of the flaws of the first layer has.
I guess in Canada you can get more than just black or white tape. Lucky you.
