It doesn't matter how you route the gyro cables - over/under crossbar, what ever. Just make sure they are well-lubed & aren't pulled super-tight as you've noted.
Also, I'd suggest that you don't put too much money into that if you're gonna re-sell it. SE Quads like that aren't exactly hot sellers.
