Park and Spin Doctor have a cleaner with a handle instead of an "arm" to hold the cleaner in place against the rear derailleur. Snap it on the chain, hold it, and slowly crank the chain around. You'll still need to wipe the chain down, then apply some lube.

Nashbar makes a mini cleaner but it looks extra cheesy to me.

I've used a chain cleaner on my roadie and it works okay but for that deep cleaning, nothing beats a soak in a can of solvent.
