Yeah, I read somewhere that South East Queensland has the fastest rate of land clearing in the world, and I'd believe it. Purlingbrook Falls, and indeed all of Springbrook National Park is actually world-heritage listed, as are a number of other areas around here. The one that really worries me right now is the Tweed Coast -- it's showing signs of ending up like the Gold Coast (i.e. tacky "resorts" as far as the eye can see) . At least the other areas have mountains to slow people down a little.
