I ride it all the time, though I avoid it on weekdays between 2-4pm. The kids from Culver High and MDR Junior High tend to congregate on the path after they get out of school. You gotta slow way down near them since they act like the path is a sidewalk and are not looking out for cyclists. I have had a few close calls.
Other than that, I really like Ballona.
