will tilting the handle bars back make up for the ring taken off, and therefore keep the geometry of the bike? or should i not do that, and the extra 20 mm of travel will make up for that, (since the stancions are higher would it raise the front of the bike and then compensate for the missing ring and keep the relative geometry of the bike)

im installing a fork for my friend since the lbs wants 50, so im doing it for him and he got a fork with too short of a tube. i wanna no wat to do. i figure i take a ring off the headset, install the fork (if it needs to be cut i get store to do that but not install it), and tilt the handlebars of the bike back a little so it keeps its relative geometry. will this work?
