I am mainly interested in a light for seeing the ground before me, and for oncoming cagers to see me as a threat to their safety (light an oncoming motorbike of sorts). In that way, they will slow down to avoid colliding with me. I know with a dinky little Cateye LED (not doubleshot/tripleshot) that cars will try to run me over.
But it would be dangerous if they come from the sides and cannot see me if I don't have side spill (can see me from the sides).
That is better.
But I hear that halogen is better for side spill.
