Okay, My searching is getting somewhere here.
I am seriously considering the Ortliebs, they have a sweet hook up and are totally waterproof. Though, I live in Denver and would just want them for a tour or two which made me wonder about these Deuters with the Ortlieb attachment:

They are kind of like what Cycocommute has set up with the QR-1 system hooked on to another pannier. For this price are these a steal? I could pick up a rain cover on Ebay for cheap and then have a semi rain proof setup as well as have some smaller pockets which the Ortlieb doesn't have.
Please advise
