I'm a geek. I always carry a back pack. In it I got a tube, tire, tools, pump, spare underwear, spare socks, spare shirt, sometimes a spare pair of shorts, half gallon milk jug, that's been washed out and filled with water, zip ties, condoms, handgun, lensatic compass, leatherman, cliff bars, Motrin, knife and a ziplock bag.
Always ride with somebody like this. Mooch off them when you have a mechanical.
