Hi all, really great to be part of this site and hoping to share my exp and learning from others as well.
Well I'm basicly not just a newbie to the site but a novice to riding as well. Did have a bike 15 odd yrs ago but never picked up the courage to ride after not having been on a bike for so long. Anyway I was looking for a car and then when I worked out the costs and looked to justify them against the purpose I thought no there's no point. My work place is like 2 miles out I have good bus networks into the city centre which is 3 miles in and I have access to a car if I ever needed to go on long journeys. I've always wanted to ride again but like I said I never picked up the courage, and at the time I decided it wasn't right for me to buy a car, I saw Ebay advertise bikes amongst other items and thought i'll just flick through it. Then I thought hey why not. So I bid on the bike and won. Paid around £75 in total for a second Marin Muirwoods in top condition and it runs excellently and others have tried and commented very well on it as well so i'm quite proud of the purchase.
Now I can ride the bike but like my time before I still havn't mastered to control it fully- please give me any tips for this, it will be appreciated greatly. I was at the park the other day and rode through a back passage between a wall and the fence of the tennis courts and the gap was like about 2 foot or so. I just couldn't keep the bike straight and kept going into the wall. Now this might suggest I'm putting too much pressure on the left handlebar or leaning too much to the right or something else alltogether. But I'm determined to work on this so again I ask for any tips please.
Appart from this I'm going to be scouring the site for info on good security and a comfortable saddle. has anybody tried the reebok saddle from jjb. The only thing that makes me think its not that good is the price. I do judge things like this on its price and either this is a great bargin at £12 or the price is a justification for the quality and comfort of the item. the item is at the following site:

Its strange though that reebok has no cycling items at all on their site and from what I could see from searching online nobody else stocks it so there is no info on the item at all.
Anyway sorry for the long intro. Hope to find lots of good info and learn alot from all you guys and hopefuly i'll have some good experiences to share and maybe some bad ones on which I can hassle you guys to help me out on!
