Astana is sponsored by some of the biggest and most powerful companies around Kazakstan. The team is even named after the capital city.
Vinokourov is Kazakstan's biggest sportsprofile and somewhat of a national hero. So I can understand if the Astana-team have a lot of pressure on themselves to let Vino shine.
Don't get me wrong now, I don't believe it's right, I just say that I could understand why.
