But, if it lasted longer that'd be nice. But the question is, can I put the ebay (270051924551) thing I listed on without getting a new BB?
If I am not mistaken, the 2007 Trek 1600 uses an outboard bearing BB and the Ebay model you are looking at is for an Octilink BB. This would require a new bb to install and would actually be a step down in components in terms of the BB. That is a nice crank but I would not change it out unless the 105 is causing problems or worn out. If you need a good home for the 105 and old BB, send me a PM and I will be happy to look after them for the next few thousand miles. Lets call it a beta test.
