Use Velcro Straps
That headlamp can be found from Rayovac (the exact one shown) at Costco in the automotive area for $17.
Take the straps off and buy a couple 18" velcro straps at REI. Run them through the back of the light and battery pack and mount them on your helment.
You can use the straps that come with the light by removing them from the light/battery pack. However, the velcro straps are a lot easier to remove and reinstall the light.
I've mounted the light on my Fox Flux helment. I had no problems with the power cord between the battery pack and light.
