Weight Saving -crankset choice

Greetings.

I am looking for ways to lighten a 2007 Fuji Cross Pro that will be used as a race bike only.

I have a FSA carbon team road crank with the platinum pro ti bottom bracket on my older fuji cross that I can use or the FSA Gossamer Cyclocross crankset and bottom bracket.

My question is wheter or not it is worth the swapping of cranksets/bb for weight or should I just keep the new gossamer on oppossed to a 2 season old carbon crankset? Is there a difference with carbon crankset and the gossamer alum crankset that would be noticeable on a cross race bike?

This is my second season of cross. I have swapped out the heavier saddle and post with a slr 135 and thomson seat post and the stem and bars with Deda Newton and 215. Pedals will be Time Atac and the wheelset is Bontrager Race X Lite /Mich. Mud tires

Thanks, any weight saving advice would be appreciated
