I would save up and get the poprad. Steel is excellent to ride -- though obviously geometry and wheels, and seatpost play a part too -- and the disc brakes should be trouble free for ages.

I don't know much about the Ibex, but I do know that you should always try for the best components you can afford. They last longer (generally) and above all they shift better etc.
