You probably have 500 calipers and need 710. Look at Harris or YellowJersey. You can also measure the distance from the brake hole to the middle of the rim to find the reach you need and search for calipers based on the length in mm.

To the OP: You asked if the 700c look noticeably smaller, to which I replied it's an 8mm difference. Less than a centimeter. You won't notice that they are smaller. As already stated, go with 700c. It's the standard, so you'll be much happier when you're looking to buy new tires or whatever.
