good advice. And supposing you still do want a fixed gear, research it some. The Fuji tracks are very affordable, as are the bianchi pistas (especially if you can find a used one). I'm not sure what rentals they have in your area, but these could be the kind of thing you'll find yourself renting anyways. I'm not sure, as I've never rented.
