new ebike

I just bought a new ebike in Tianjin, China. It is a 250 watt, 48 volt system weighing in at a hefty 85+ pounds. The wheels are 24". When I first took it out of the store I was really disappointed with the performance so I went back and told them. The took a screwdriver, opened a panel on the bike and cut a wire. It flies now! I guess it was the wire to the governor. The bike is not a steller performer but for about US$ 200 it is not too bad. The fork has a suspension but the rear does not. I would hate to think of what the bike would be like without a front suspension and really wish I had a rear! Things are fine until you hit a bump...a small bump - 1" - is not a problem...but anything more than that is definitely felt. I will include pics in my next posting. It has given me lots of food for thought for the ideal ebike, which I will make out of my beach bike.
