commuter ideas? crosscheck?
first time poster here, though i've been a lurker. anyways..
i'm looking for some input on a good commuter for myself. i have been riding a fixed gear for the past few years...and i ride it all summer, and most of the fall and spring. (i live in maine by the way). now i'm looking to build up a commuter i can ride through the winter. i'm currently building up a karate monkey, but it's going to be set up mostly for singletrack and the like.
so i was thinking maybe something along the lines of a crosscheck. anyone out there ride this as their commuter? i'm going to be riding all winter...mostly short trips around my area (smaller city...with some hills here and there.) i figure the XC is a good idea since it affords me the option of riding geared or SS.
