I will admit, being stuck on the Eastside puts you at a distinct disadvantage. Blech. the Eastside is built in the best spirit of the homogeneous, dystopic american suburbia model.
Zoka, Lighthouse Roasters, Cafe Ladro, Vivace all rate as some of the best locals.
For fresssh roasted beans, Lighthouse up in Fremont.
