We flew into Linate bc it was $500 cheaper and on the east side of the city (we were heading to salsamoggaire if you recall).
Re showers, we packed the bikes at the airport on Friday and left them at left luggage, stayed at a hotel on friday night and left Sat morning.
Where did you end up going/what was your route?
Day 1 - Somma Lombardo to Pavia first day.
Day 2 - By train from Pavia to Genoa (an unintended stop due to missed connection and locked bicycle car).
Day 3 - Train to LaSpezia with day trip to 5 Terra.
Day 4 - LaSpezia to Viareggio
Day 5 - Day trip to Pisa
Day 6 - Viareggio to Pistoia going through Lucca.
Day 7 - Pistoia to Cremona by train
Day 8 - Cremona to Lecco
Day 9 - Lecco to Cardona
Day 10 - Cardona to Como via Luganno
Day 11 - Stayed in Como due to rain.
Day 12 - Como to Verbania in the pouring rain (tired of Como)
Day 13 - Verbania back to Somma Lombardo via the west side of Maggorie.
I'll try to post a more detailed report later.
Next year I want to concentrate on the lakes and possibly the Alps (assuming the dollar gets stronger
).
