Getting a track wheel and matching bb / crank would make your life easier too: the sugino 103mm bb and the sugino rd single speed crankset are a good value and will give you a 42mm chainline to match the track hub. I actually used that bb and crank combo on my '83 del rey with a single speed freewheel on the original hub, and I think the chainline was pretty good without respacing. I ultimately replaced the wheels with a formula/mavic wheelset to get it perfect. Here's the end result:

thats my bike, expect black. Maybe it is an '80 something then. So you just used the 103 BB and RD crankset? i was looking at those online to put on my bike if i figured out my problem.
