According to sapim the cx-rays are much much stronger than the races. Importantly for stiffness this includes the strength of the middle section as well as actual durability. The weight recommendations for the american classics must be based on something other that just the spokes then.
The Carbon 58s are 110g lighter with the CX-Rays. Other than that its the exact same wheel.
