a 99 f500 should have come with the p-bone headshock. you can upgrade to a newer headshock with no problem except for needing to go to disc brakes as most all headshocks now are disc brake only. If you are the original owner of the bike and have reciepts you cannindale does and upgrade option which will saave you some money on the fork. headshocks run about 500 dollars new
