i just got my road bike in June, because a friend of mine decided we should try the MS 150 ride in September. While training for that, we realized what a blast cycling is, and we continue to ride. We are going to do other sponsored rides next year, so we're enjoying a mix of fun cycling and training-style cycling.
Once it stops being fun, that's when you know you're going about it all wrong.
