Very little is known about corky other than he built the bikes of choice for local racers in the 1960s and early 70s. He is still alive today and residing in california. He was pleased to hear someone was restoring one of his bicycles and gladly supplied a set of original downtube decals for the project free of charge.
He sounds like a great guy, you could easily ride Corky down the coast and show it to him once it is built up. What components are you going to go with for Corky? I am a big fan of modern components on a vintage frame but I am not sure if this would work for Corky, perhaps period-correct would be nice but I suppose that gets into some expensive territory.
