Slime Tire Liner - bad results

I installed a Slime brand tire liner onto my mountain bike and it seems the edge of the liner actually cut into the tube, causing a small leak. The liners were used for about five rides, each ride about 2.5 hours long. The specifics:

Front: Panaracer Rampage, 2.35 (@40 psi)
Rear: Panaracer Fire SC XC Pro 2.125 (@ 40 psi)

After inspecting the tube, a sharp, distinct line could be traced around the tube at the edge of the tire liner. This line appears to also be a shallow cut in some spots. After submerging the tube in water, I discovered a small hole within this cut line. I assume the liner actually cut and wore this hole. It'd be too coincidental to get a thorn right along the cut line. I removed the other tube and found a similar line snaking around the tire. It seems like a matter of time before more weak spots would develop.

I've used Mr Tuffy tire liners in the past with decent results.

Does anyone have similar experiences with Slime tire liners? Or did I get my liners from a bad batch with sharp edges?
