Am reposting this from the road cycling forum.

I am wondering if a mtb triple crank on my road bike will work.

I already have the ultegra long cage rear and triple front deraileur and use 9 speed barends.

Ive been playing around with the gear ratios and I really like the gearing a 11/21 9speed
cassette gives with this crankset. 108 on the top end and around 28 on the bottom plus
night tight spacing all the way thru the middle ring.

Any reason or considerations on why this will or will not work?
