I have rode bikes my whole life, especially when I was little living in Orlando. I was in marching band all through high school so I use to be pretty in shape, and now I am in my first year of college (everyone knows what college does).
So...help is needed. Thank you.
Just take yourself, your brakeless track bike, and a helmet along to your local velodrome whenever they have the beginner/low category clinics or race nights. Track racing is about control and technique, so learning to ride in a paceline or in a group is very important. As Dutret says, lay down some base miles away from the track. Good luck!
