Unless things have changed recently, the engagement points are exactly the same between xt and deore. The quality of parts is better, but it is still a slow engagement.

Like I said, that might have changed, I don't buy shimano hubs anymore, (well I haven't bought hubs in ages) but the engagement points used to be identical.
