I sold a bike with the same hubs and clearly they were original to that bike, circa 1980 IIRC, and I was surprised at how good and true they were considering the age and dubious "drillium" treatment. I'd say have the spoke tension checked by a bona-fide expert since that would be crucial in getting a safe wheel with this hub, but that said...it can be done and has been.
