My LBS is happy to work on bikes purchased through BikesDirect.com. The owner will tell you up front that BikesDirect.com bikes are good and at prices he can't compete with but that does not bother him in the least. He said the real money is in service and very high end bikes. BikesDirect.com gives him service customers and the people purchasing high end bikes want personal service with a real person standing there talking to them. Everyone wins.
