I agree about Peñalosa. He did some great things as mayor of Bogotá. Too bad he wasn't re-elected. Have you seen these videos? One is about the innovative Transmilenio "bus rapid transit" system and how commuters are encouraged to cycle to it, and the other is about the Ciclovía bike paths that Peñalosa had built.

Here's another video about Bogotá, this one aired on PBS and was narrated by Brad Pitt.
