'Ridden to death' is just a figure of speech. My Strida II did 3 years service before I sold it to another driver, he had it 3 years before he sold it to my boss. It is fairly knackered now though. The early stridas had rivetted steering heads which work loose, add a worn bottom bracket and it seems like a dinosaur compared to the Strida 5 (or even my 3.2/3)
My 1st Strida 3 got nicked from Belfast before it could wear out!
I had the 2nd Strida 3 converted to metal wheels by Strida NL in Amsterdam and its still going strong.
I probably use my Strida 5 more than any other of my many bikes. No sign of wear except a few sets of tyres & tubes.
