I grew up in that area. I am not surprised, the SC County Sheriff's are crummy cops (not all, but many). Their rookies especially always have seemed to have something to prove. About 5 years ago on a country road a rookie sheriff passed my friends car at 90mph (a 35 windey road) to try to give him a ticket. This was late at night, and the officers driving was very dangerous. The officer was unable to stop in time to catch my friend, and swerved past him and into oncoming traffic, then waited for him at the next turn.
So Sad...
